Massachusetts Has Worked for Some, Not All, for Too Long. It’s Time to Bring Opportunity to Massachusetts

HAMILTON, Mass. — Candidate for governor Mike Minogue laid out his opportunity agenda to bring good jobs, thriving businesses, and real educational choice back to Massachusetts families.

“Massachusetts has been working for some, not all, for too long,” said Minogue. “Political insiders and a one-party system on Beacon Hill have made it harder to start a business, harder to hire, and harder for families to get ahead. It’s time to make Massachusetts the best place to live, work, and raise a family.”

Minogue’s Opportunity Agenda

Grow jobs by retaining and recruiting entrepreneurs and businesses. Minogue will recruit and retain entrepreneurs and businesses, creating a culture where they are not driven out of Massachusetts.

Invest in manufacturing. Minogue will invest in manufacturing to create good-paying jobs that support families and strengthen communities across the Commonwealth, highlighting the “Made in Massachusetts” brand.

Cut government red tape. Minogue will eliminate stretch codes and reduce permitting times for single-family homes to 45 days.

Give parents a choice in education. Minogue will opt Massachusetts into the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit on day one. The program will bring up to $2 billion in educational resources to parents of school-aged children. 85 percent of parents in Massachusetts will qualify. 31 Democrat and Republican governors have opted in. Maura Healey has not. Without opting in, the money is lost to Massachusetts.

“Opportunity shouldn’t depend on your zip code or your requirement to be part of the political elite,” said Minogue. “It’s time to end the one-party system that has put political insiders first, and to make Massachusetts a place where everyone has a chance to succeed.”
