Land and Water Conservation Fund Award - Parsons Park Renovation

Easthampton, MA - The City of Easthampton is pleased to announce a Land and Water Conservation Fund grant award of $191,500 to support the renovation of Parsons Park. This 1⁄8-acre park is located at the corner of Parsons St and Federal St in the New City neighborhood.

Plans for the park renovation incorporate public input from multiple outreach events and were finalized in 2025. The park renovation will feature a complete reconstruction of the park, including new accessible walkways, rain gardens, benches, a shade structure, game tables, a lawn area for gathering, pollinator gardens, and several shade trees. Play structures for young children are also included. The park design will provide a gathering space for residents in a neighborhood that has been identified as a ‘hot spot’ due to minimal tree cover, extensive paved area, and dense residential development.

The City plans to bid the project next spring and start construction in the summer of 2027.
