Galvin Urges Voters to Register by Saturday

October 22, 2026

Secretary of the Commonwealth William F. Galvin is urging those who plan to participate in the November 3, 2026 State Election to register to vote or check their existing voter record by this Saturday, October 24. Under state law, voters must register to vote at least 10 days before Election Day to be eligible to cast a ballot.

Current registered voters may visit www.VoteInMA.com to check their voter registration status. Those who find that their address is out of date must submit a new registration form to update their address.

Citizens who have a Massachusetts driver’s license or state ID card may submit a registration form online, at www.VoteInMA.com, until 11:59 p.m. on Saturday. Those who are not able to submit a form online may register in person at any city or town hall until 5 p.m., Saturday. Voters also have the option of printing a voter registration form and mailing it to their local election office, though the form must be postmarked by October 24.

For those who would like to vote early, in-person voter registration will also be offered at early voting sessions held before 5 p.m. on Saturday. Voters may register at an early voting location in their community and cast their ballot immediately afterward. Early voting schedules may also be found at www.VoteInMA.com.

Recently naturalized citizens are also encouraged to register to vote in person, as they will be unable to submit a registration form online if their citizenship documentation has not yet been updated with the Registry of Motor Vehicles. Any person who becomes a citizen after the October 24 deadline may register in person at their local election office until 4 p.m. on Monday, November 2.
