Press Release: 10/21/2026

TPS for Ukraine and Sudan still valid

  • Temporary Protected Status (TPS) protections are still in effect for TPS holders from Ukraine and Sudan.

  • The TPS designation for Ukraine and Sudan was set to expire on October 19, 2026. However, the Trump Administration has not announced whether the designation will be terminated or extended. Until further notice, TPS protections remain in place.

  • Work permits for TPS holders also remain valid, even if the card shows an expiration date of October 19, 2026.

  • TPS holders from Ukraine and Sudan should continue to monitor official USCIS updates and should not assume that their TPS or work authorization has ended solely because of the October 19 expiration date.

  • Individuals with TPS who have not yet received an individual legal consultationare encouraged to speak with a qualified immigration attorney or accredited representative to understand their immigration options.
