Shortsleeve Campaign Responds to  Prioritizing Patient Access To Care Act Signing

AUG 10, 2026

BOSTON, MA – The Shortsleeve campaign  released the following statement Monday reacting to Governor Maura Healey signing the Prioritizing Patient Access To Care Act :

“Brian Shortsleeve has been clear throughout this campaign that he is pro-choice and believes these deeply personal decisions should be made between a woman and her doctor,” said campaign spokesperson Pat Nestor. “This legislation is largely consistent with protections already established under current Massachusetts law, and as governor, Brian would sign it.”

“What is equally clear is that Maura Healey wants the general election to be about abortion rather than her failures on affordability, taxes, and the economy,” Nestor added. “That makes Mike Minogue, who is anti-choice, uniquely vulnerable to the attacks Healey is already preparing to make and would put Republicans up and down the ballot at a significant disadvantage in a general election matchup.”
