Trahan Statement on Mass General Brigham Nurses Strike

Today, Congresswoman Lori Trahan (MA-03), a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Health Subcommittee, issued the following statement regarding the Mass General Brigham nurses strike:

“Nurses are the unsung heroes in our broken healthcare system. The nurses and caregivers at Mass General Brigham have shown up for their patients through a pandemic, through staffing shortages, and through impossibly long shifts. They deserve a contract that respects their work and their commitment to families across our Commonwealth.”

“No one wants to see nurses on a picket line instead of at the bedside, least of all nurses themselves. It’s imperative that Mass General Brigham and the Massachusetts Nurses Association return to the table and negotiate in good faith until they reach a contract that honors the lifesaving work these nurses do day in and day out.”
