Mass Power Forward will host rallies across Boston, Pittsfield, and Springfield, highlighting utility greed and excessive corporate profits
Boston — Mass Power Forward, the largest coalition of grassroots climate and environmental justice groups in Massachusetts, will gather for a protest at Eversource headquarters today at 1:00 p.m. ET, followed by a “Follow the Money” tour and rally at the State House at 2:30 p.m. ET. This is a statewide action with rallies happening in Pittsfield, Springfield, and Boston.
Energy utility corporations are raking in record profits while constituents struggle to pay their energy bills. Using ratepayer money, utilities like Eversource, National Grid, and Berkshire Gas are attempting to increase our reliance on expensive, polluting fossil fuels, harming our health and the planet. These utilities spend hundreds of thousands of dollars a year lobbying Massachusetts legislators to cut back on climate goals and allow them to keep polluting as much as possible.
