Press Release: 5/14/2026

Take action TODAY to protect health coverage in Massachusetts

On behalf of Health Care For All (HCFA), thank you for everything you are doing to support equitable, accessible and affordable health care for Massachusetts residents. This work is especially important as we face the impacts of unprecedented federal health care changes.

We are writing today to ask that you support two critical amendments to protect the most vulnerable residents from caps on essential services like dental care and the loss of coverage for lawfully present immigrants. Please consider co-sponsoring the following Senate budget amendments and reaching out to Senate leadership and budget writers to ask that they be adopted:

Amendment #479: Exempt dentures from MassHealth dental cap

  • Exempts dentures from the newly proposed cap on MassHealth adult dental benefits. The amendment will protect seniors, people with chronic conditions, cancer survivors, and others who are most likely to experience tooth loss, and require dentures so they can maintain the ability to eat and chew.

Amendment #500: Commission to Protect Immigrant Health Coverage

  • Creates a commission to research and recommend coverage options for the 67,000 lawfully present immigrants and others already losing coverage due to federal health care cuts. The amendment will help build consensus around maintaining Massachusetts's commitment to coverage and care.

We've made it EASY for you to contact your state senator and urge them to support and co-sponsor these key health access priorities. Click the button below to take 30 seconds and make your voice heard!
