QUINCY, MASS. — The MDDC is pleased to announce that Destiny Maxam has joined our Public Policy Team as a Policy Coordinator. In this role, Destiny will be responsible for assisting with legislative and policy research and supporting the Council membership in undertaking policy education and awareness activities and implementing related Council State Plan objectives.
Destiny is a disability advocate and community organizer dedicated to advancing equitable policy and systems change. Her work focuses on connecting lived experience with policy, helping to ensure disability perspectives are meaningfully reflected in decision-making. She is also a Paul W. Spooner Generational Leadership Summit graduate and summit presenter.
Destiny has experience supporting legislative efforts, coordinating public testimony, and engaging stakeholders across the disability community. Destiny is deeply committed to building spaces where disabled voices are heard, valued, and centered.
As a wheelchair user, she brings both personal and professional insight into the barriers people face, and works to advance solutions that support independence, dignity, and full participation in the community.
Destiny holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin
“I am excited to welcome Destiny to the Council. Destiny will offer much experience to our program and policy team. Destiny has demonstrated the leadership and advocacy skills we promote for people with disabilities.” said Craig Hall, Executive Director.
