BOSTON — Governor Maura Healey today announced the national recognition of Technology Services and Security Secretary Jason Snyder and state Chief Information Security Officer Anthony J. O’Neill, who have been named to the 2026 Top 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers by Government Technology.
The annual award recognizes public-sector leaders across the country who are using technology to improve government services, strengthen cybersecurity and deliver better results for residents.
“This recognition reflects the work we’re doing to build a more modern, secure and responsive state government,” said Governor Maura Healey. “Jason and Tony are leading efforts to strengthen our cybersecurity, simplify how people access services and bring new technology into government in a way that actually works for residents. We’re proud that Massachusetts is being recognized nationally for delivering better, more accessible services and protecting the systems people rely on every day.”
“Jason and Tony have built teams that are focused on delivering real results for people,” said Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll. “From improving how residents interact with state services to strengthening our defenses against cyber threats, this work is making government more effective, more secure and easier to use. We’re proud to see Massachusetts recognized as a leader in this space.”
Under Snyder’s leadership, Massachusetts has accelerated its IT modernization program, with major focus on the constituent digital government experience. Through the MyMassGov single sign-on platform, TSS has collaborated across agencies to integrate over 110 customer-facing business applications, soon to include RMV transactions, under a single platform.
TSS is also advancing the state’s digital accessibility program to ensure all residents can access government services online, while aligning with ADA WCAG 2.0 standards. In addition, Snyder has positioned Massachusetts as a national leader in the use of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to improve service delivery and support the state workforce.
“This award is an incredible honor, and it reflects the tangible progress we’re making to deliver innovative, people-centered government services, said Secretary Snyder. Just as importantly it represents the dedication, talent, and collaboration of an exceptional team at TSS, whose commitment to public service drives everything we do. I am grateful to receive this honor alongside my colleague Tony O’Neill, our state's Chief Information Security Officer.”
O’Neill has led a forward-looking, whole-of-government approach to cybersecurity and risk management, elevating Massachusetts’ ability to anticipate, withstand, and respond to evolving threats while protecting the data and systems residents depend on.
Together, their leadership reflects Massachusetts’ broader commitment to innovation, resilience, and excellence in public service.
