The SUPER Act and Social Work Compact are in House and Senate Ways and Means, and its time to ramp up our advocacy and get them over the finish line! We are looking to make a large show of strength as social workers who support the SUPER Act (S.2590/H.4650) and Social Work Compact (S.252/H.5272) by hosting a mini-lobby day! Would you join us is showing legislators that social workers in MA support these bills, and that they should be brought to a vote?
The SUPER Act would remove financial barriers for people entering the field by removing the entry master's level exam, instilling paid placements for MSW students, and incentivizing LICSW holders to provide supervision through CEUs.
The Social Work Compact would enable social workers to apply for a compact license which would allow them to see clients in other compact states.
Will you join us and share your support for these two bills? Bills are only signed into law, due to the advocacy of constituents!
We want to show legislators that the social workers in Massachusetts are in support of exam removal and interstate licensure compacts, and have been fighting for them cause for almost four years. Join us at the State House on May 6th at 10:30am to lobby legislators and to ask them to 'pencil in' the SUPER Act and the social work compact for this legislative session. Make sure to RSVP here! All lobbying materials will be provided, and you will be lobbying in groups!
