WPD Officers Arrest Male who Tossed Ghost Gun During Foot Pursuit
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 3/9/2026 11:36 am
On March 7, 2026, at approximately 7:49 p.m., Worcester Police officers observed an operator fail to come to a complete stop at a stop sign. Officers pulled the driver over on Millbury Street and Fifth Avenue.
The operator identified himself as twenty-two-year-old Carlos Ketter of Worcester and stated that he did not have a valid driver’s license. Moments later, Ketter drove off at a high rate of speed. He drove recklessly down several streets. He exited his vehicle on Fox Street and ran from officers. He failed to put his car in park, hitting two WPD police cruisers.
During the foot pursuit, officers observed Ketter throw an object onto the offramp by I-290. Officers caught up with Ketter and placed him in handcuffs. WPD officers recovered a firearm in the area where Ketter was seen throwing an object. It was later determined to be a ghost gun which did not have a serial number. Ketter also did not have a license to carry or an FID Card. Massachusetts State Police officers expanded the search and assisted in recovering a black magazine and loose ammunition. The WPD’s Crime Scene Unit took possession of the gun.
Ketter is charged with Carrying a Firearm Without a License, Receiving an Untraceable Firearm, Improper Storage of a Firearm, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (x2), Unlicensed Operation of Motor Vehicle, Operating to Endanger, along with a number of other driving-related charges.
