Businesses Fleeing Taxachusetts Find Freedom in New Hampshire

CONCORD, NH – Massachusetts is once again gaining national attention for taxing businesses out of their state and north to New Hampshire. Today, Governor Kelly Ayotte renewed her call for Bay State businesses looking for freedom from higher taxes to look no further than the Granite State.

“Any business seeking freedom from higher taxes in Massachusetts or anywhere else in the nation is welcome in the Granite State,” said Governor Ayotte. “We’re proud to have one of the best business tax climates in America, and we’re going to keep showcasing all New Hampshire has to offer to companies in Massachusetts and beyond.” 

In her State of the Commonwealth Address, Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey took a victory lap on retaining a single company with big tax breaks, but New Hampshire’s business climate continues to attract companies fleeing higher taxes. Last year, the Granite State welcomed six new companies and 500 new jobs from Massachusetts alone, including SynQor and Analogic, relocating their headquarters.

New Hampshire ranks top ten in the nation for business tax climate, while Massachusetts is in the bottom ten. New Hampshire is also the best state for economic freedom and opportunity and has the lowest tax burden in the country.
