WCVB To Launch NewsCenter 5 at 12:30 Beginning Monday, January 5

WCVB NewsCenter 5, Boston’s News Leader, will launch a new half-hour, weekday newscast at 12:30PM, Monday through Friday, beginning on Monday, January 5, 2026. NewsCenter 5 at 12:30 will follow NewsCenter 5 at Noon and expand WCVB’s midday news coverage to a full hour. Both NewsCenter 5 at Noon and NewsCenter 5 at 12:30 steam live on WCVB’s streaming platform Very Local, wcvb.com, and on the WCVB app.
NewsCenter 5 at 12:30 will be anchored by Jessica Brown with the award-winning NewsCenter 5 team delivering extended breaking news reports, comprehensive coverage of the day’s top local and national stories, live weather and traffic updates, and in-depth reporting on issues impacting the community. NewsCenter 5 at Noon will continue to be co-anchored by Antoinette Antonio and Jessica Brown with chief meteorologist Cindy Fitzgibbon.

The launch of NewsCenter 5 at 12:30 will replace the gameshow “25 Words or Less” which will air overnight at 2:06AM Monday through Friday.
