We Did It — Tibbits-Nutt Is Out

Monica Tibbits-Nutt is out as Secretary of Transportation.

After months of public pressure, and two statewide call-to-action campaigns led by MassFiscal, Governor Healey’s administration has finally parted ways with one of the most controversial figures in state government.

From her infamous 2024 speech where she vowed to “use policy as a weapon”against taxpayers, to this year’s shady $900 million service plaza deal, Tibbits-Nutt’s record was marked by arrogance, mismanagement, and hostility toward ordinary commuters.

MassFiscal sounded the alarm to call for her resignation and we never let up. Thanks to your messages, calls, and advocacy, Beacon Hill finally got the message: taxpayers will not be ignored.

This is a victory for accountability, transparency, and every Massachusetts resident who demanded better.

But our work isn’t done. The Healey administration will soon choose her replacement and we’ll be watching closely to make sure the next leader at MassDOT puts taxpayers and commuters first.

Thank you for standing with us and proving, once again, that when citizens speak up, even the most entrenched bureaucrats have to listen.

Together, we’re holding Beacon Hill accountable, one victory at a time.

Sincerely,

Paul D. Craney
