Cindy Fitzgibbon, Ro Dooley Webster to be inducted into the prestigious Silver Circle by NATAS

Cindy Fitzgibbon, WCVB Chief Meteorologist, and Ro Dooley Webster, WCVB Director of Programming & Communications and WMUR Director of Programming, will be inducted into The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Boston/New England Chapter’s 2025 Silver Circle. The prestigious Silver Circle honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the industry and community for twenty-five years or longer.

Both have made tremendous contributions to WCVB and New England, and they’re ideally suited to take their places in the renowned Silver Circle.”
Fitzgibbon and Dooley Webster, along with six other distinguished broadcasters, will be honored for their profound contributions to the industry at the gala celebration held on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at the Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy, MA. Fellow inductees include: GOLD - Rebecca Eaton, Executive Producer, PBS Masterpiece, WGBH, Boston, MA and SILVER – Lisa “Boomer” Bumbaca-O’Brien, Director, WBZ, Boston, MA; Mario Hilario, News Anchor, WJAR, Providence, RI; Mark Ockerbloom, News Anchor, WFXT, Boston, MA; Carol Sisco, Vice President & Executive Director of Programming, CT Public Television, Hartford, CT; and Rodney Verrill, Director of Engineering & Operations, Hussan University, Bangor, ME.
About Cindy Fitzgibbon:
An expert and award-winning meteorologist, Fitzgibbon is chief meteorologist for WCVB StormTeam 5, overseeing the station’s weather coverage and leading WCVB’s talented team of meteorologists. With 30 years of experience, more than 20 of them reporting weather in the Boston market, Fitzgibbon has been helping people start their day as StormTeam 5’s EyeOpener and Midday meteorologist for more than a decade.
Prior to joining WCVB, Fitzgibbon was the morning meteorologist at Boston’s WFXT. Before that, Fitzgibbon spent time learning tropical meteorology at WBBH in Fort Myers, Florida and forecasting snowstorms at WPTZ, the Hearst NBC affiliate in Burlington, Vermont. She started her meteorology career at KXMB in Bismarck, North Dakota.
Fitzgibbon is involved with and devotes her time to organizations that promote science education, particularly to young girls. She makes frequent “Weather Visits” to schools across the area and has educated thousands of students about the weather, and she regularly donates her time to help raise money for a number of local non-profit organizations.
A native New Englander, raised near Portland, Maine, Fitzgibbon earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from Vermont State University. She is a member of both the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and the National Weather Association and has been awarded the AMS Seal of Approval for Television.
About Ro Dooley Webster:
An award-winning media executive, Dooley Webster has more than 36 years of leadership experience in Boston broadcasting. She has been at Hearst Television’s Boston/Manchester sister-stations for over a decade where she oversees all aspects of programming and media relations for WCVB and manages all programming for WMUR.
Before joining WCVB and WMUR in 2015, Dooley Webster was the Director of Communications and Public Affairs at the CBS-owned WBZ and WSBK. Before that, she was Director of Public Relations for the Sunbeam-owned NBC affiliate at the time WHDH. Dooley Webster has also worked as the Public Relations Director for the then Tribune-owned Boston WB affiliate WLVI and as Director of Press and Public Relations at New England Cable News (NECN). She began her broadcast career in news and specials at independent WCVX.
Dooley Webster is past President of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Boston/New England and currently serves on the Board of Governors. She was nominated for a Rosoff "Mentor" Award presented by the Ad Club of Boston for advancing diversity in the workplace as part of her work with The Emma Bowen Foundation.
A Massachusetts native, Dooley Webster earned her MA Degree in Marketing Communications from Emerson College and her BA Degree in Communications and Marketing from Boston College.
