Demand Accountability: Secretary Tibbits-Nutt Must Resign

Massachusetts taxpayers were nearly shortchanged by almost $900 millionin an alledged corrupt highway service plaza deal overseen by Transportation Secretary Monica Tibbits-Nutt. The contract was pushed through in a process riddled with shifting RFP terms, backchannel communications, and political favoritism, all to benefit a politically connected bidder.

Only after months of scrutiny and public pressure did Applegreen abruptly walk away, exposing just how badly Tibbits-Nutt mismanaged taxpayer resources. This is not the first controversy under her watch, either. Just last year, she was caught on camera boasting about using policy as a “weapon” against taxpayers and pushing new tolls, fees, and excise tax hikes.

Massachusetts cannot afford another day with her in charge.

The Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance is calling on Governor Maura Healey to demand Tibbits-Nutt’s resignation immediately. Will you join us in that call by contacting your lawmakers?
