State Treasurer Deborah B. Goldberg’s Office of Economic Empowerment, in collaboration with Citizens, is offering free financial education to Massachusetts residents through the Worth & Wealth Seminars and its sister program, Los Seminarios de Valor y Dinero. Made possible by a $40,000 grant from Citizens to the Economic Empowerment Trust Fund, the seminars pair virtual workshops with one-on-one coaching to help participants feel more confident about their finances and plan for the future.
This initiative builds on the bank’s signature financial education effort, Citizens Money Essentials. Through this program, Citizens colleagues deliver an interactive, bilingual financial education curriculum that equips individuals and small businesses with money management strategies. In 2024 alone, the bank’s colleagues contributed more than 6,500 volunteer hours teaching financial skills in communities across the bank’s footprint. By extending this expertise through the Worth & Wealth series, Citizens and the Treasurer’s Office are bringing practical tools and coaching directly to Massachusetts residents.
For ten weeks, participants can attend workshops in English and Spanish on topics such as wealth-building, investing, managing credit, and avoiding fraud. Workshops are delivered virtually on Zoom by trusted financial experts who answer questions in real time.
The upcoming workshops are as follows:
