Aug 23, 2025 (Boston, MA) – The Trump administration halted construction on Revolution Wind, a nearly complete offshore wind project near Rhode Island. Construction on Revolution Wind began in 2023, and the project was expected to be fully operational next year bringing 704 megawatts of energy to Connecticut and Rhode Island. Conservation Law Foundation (CLF) released the following statement in response.

“The attempt to stop Revolution Wind is a violation of the law and a dramatic overreach that must be reversed by the courts. Revolution Wind is a fully permitted offshore wind farm that is providing thousands of jobs in New England and was on the cusp of providing affordable, clean power to 400,000 homes in Rhode Island and Connecticut.” said Kate Sinding Daly Senior Vice President for Law and Policy. “The decision to try to kill Revolution Wind is meant to serve the fossil fuel companies, who were losing the economic and ecological battle to wind and solar until the Trump administration decided to step in on behalf of gas, oil, and coal.”
