United Way of Mass. Bay Recieves $300,000 in Critical Funding from Eversource Foundation and Employee Donations

BOSTON – United Way of Massachusetts Bay announced today that Eversource Energy is providing a $300,000 donation to support its efforts to advance thriving communities in our region. United Way responds to our region’s most pressing issues in partnership with community-based organizations, government, businesses and foundations to provide resources where they are needed most, remove systemic barriers and unlock opportunity for individuals and families.
The donation is part of the $2.7 million total over the last year from Eversource employees and the Eversource Foundation to United Way organizations in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. This additional financial support will fuel United Way of Massachusetts Bay’s work to advance healthy, thriving communities by increasing availability of safe and stable housing, expanding access to high-quality early education and pathways to college or career, and creating opportunities for people to increase their income and save for the future.

The donations from Eversource include nearly $1.3 million collected during the company’s six-week employee and retiree annual fundraising effort, helping to connect thousands of people in need with community services through United Way agencies. Additionally, hundreds of Eversource employees volunteered at events across its service territory in support of local United Way organizations.
