Brown Rudnick Secures Major PTAB Win for Mobile Data Technologies against Samsung

Brown Rudnick secured a major victory at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board on behalf of Mobile Data Technologies against Samsung Electronics America. After Brown Rudnick, on behalf of Mobile Data Technologies, filed litigation in the Eastern District of Texas against Samsung, alleging that Samsung was infringing five of Mobile Data’s patents, Samsung challenged the validity of all five patents through 10 IPRs. On August 14, 2025, the USPTO found in favor of Mobile Data Technologies and denied institution of eight IPRs (the other two IPRs were denied on July 10). With this complete victory at the PTAB, the patents are cleared for trial in the district court.
