August 19, 2025 (BOSTON, MA) – Keolis Commuter Services (Keolis), the MBTA’s operations and maintenance partner for Commuter Rail, is proud to announce that Lizzie (Doherty) Baker has been named to Mass Transit Magazine’s 40 under 40 list this year.

Ms. Baker is the Director of Marketing and Creative (for the MBTA Commuter Rail) and the Acting Vice President of the newly formed department of Passenger Experience, Marketing & Revenue at Keolis Commuter Services. With this recognition from Mass Transit, she joins other young transit leaders from across the country who have “shown a capacity for innovation, demonstrated leadership and a commitment to making an impact in transit,” according to the magazine.

“I can speak for everyone at Keolis when I say that we are so proud of Lizzie’s accomplishments,” said Keolis General Manager and CEO, Abdellah Chajai. “Lizzie’s commitment to our passengers and to our partnership with the MBTA is evident in her work, and I want to congratulate her on this recognition.”

Baker joined Keolis Commuter Services in December 2017 as the Marketing Manager for Commuter Rail. One of Baker’s most notable achievements is the creation and execution of the first integrated marketing campaign for Commuter Rail and the development and launch of the Commuter Rail’s $10 Weekend ticket.

The campaign helped broaden public perception of Commuter Rail, encouraging leisure ridership and increasing user-generated content that reflected positive experiences and improved brand sentiment. One of its signature components, Commuter Rail TRACKed, a storytelling initiative reflecting rider experiences, was recognized recently with a New England Emmy Award for Branded Content.

Baker also spoke at the 2023 APTA Rail Conference and served as a panelist at the 2024 Commuter Rail Coalition Conference. Recently, Baker joined the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce’s Boston Interactive Media Association (BIMA) Advisory Board, representing Keolis.

“I’m honored to be recognized on this list among my peers in the transit industry,” said Baker. “I love helping people realize that public transportation is not just a necessity, it can be a joyful, empowering and even life-enhancing resource. I want to thank Mass Transit for this honor.”
