If passed, the Social Work Compact would:

  • Would reduce barriers to license portability by allowing social workers with bachelor’s, master’s, and clinical licenses to serve clients in other compact states.

  • Will provide continuity of care for clients who frequently relocate or travel, enhance public safety, allow states increased investigative ability with licensees to ensure ethical practice is upheld, and further expand the availability of unique services provided by social workers.

  • The compact has been adopted in several states, each reflecting the same language as written in the model legislation. In the Northeastern United States, states such as Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, and Rhode Island have all enacted the Social Work Licensure Compact.

RSVP Today!

If passed, the SUPER Act would:

  • Remove the standardized test at the LCSW level that Master's level social workers are currently required to take after completing their Master's Degree. Master's social workers would still need to go through the licensing process.

  • Allow Licensed Independent Clinical Social Workers (LICSWs) to earn continuing education credits for supervising Licensed Certified Social Workers (LCSWs), MSWs, and BSWs.

  • Institute into law a grant program providing master's social work students with stipends.
