SCOTUS Urged to Take Up MA Case on Secret Gender Transitions for Minors

 

Last week, a petition was filed for the United States Supreme Court to hear one of our cases, Foote v. Ludlow School Committee. Attorneys from Alliance Defending Freedom have joined the fight alongside MFI and Child and Parental Rights Campaign in challenging Ludlow School Committee officials for blatantly violating parents’ rights to raise their child.   

This case involves a 12-year-old girl who was encouraged by school staff to identify as a boy, without her parents’ knowledge or consent. While using a male name and pronouns for the student at school, officials deliberately concealed this information from her parents by continuing to use her birth name and female pronouns in communication with them. The school even sent the girl to a counselor, who “affirmed” her gender confusion against her parents’ express wishes. When the parents discovered what had happened and asked the school to stop socially transitioning their daughter, the district refused and continued to undermine their authority. 

In February, the First Circuit ruled against the parents, holding that the school did not violate their fundamental parental rights. As promised, we are now asking the Supreme Court to take up this vital case.  

Radical ideologues can no longer be allowed to take advantage of vulnerable and confused children in public schools. The Constitution protects a parent’s right to direct the upbringing of their child, and it is time for the courts to affirm that principle once again. Please pray that God will guide the attorneys on this case as they take the next steps and that the case will find favor before the U.S Supreme Court. Pray that we would find support and assistance from those in positions of power. And pray for strength and peace for the family at the center of this case.
