ACTION ALERT: Two Important Hearings NEXT WEEK
We are alerting you to two important hearings taking place next week that are critical to preserving parental rights and protecting children from radical ideology and explicit materials in our schools.
July 21st Education Hearing
The Joint Committee on Education has scheduled a key hearing for Monday, July 21st on two crucial bills—one we support and one we oppose. This hearing is from 11 AM to 5 PM in the Gardner Auditorium at the State House in Boston.
These measures are critical to preserving parental rights and protecting children from radical ideology in our schools. There is an option to testify virtually or in person. Written testimony may also be submitted.
The deadline to register is THIS FRIDAY, July 18th, by 12 PM!
BILL TO SUPPORT
This bill is a crucial step to restore parental rights in our public schools. It ensures parents are fully informed and involved in important decisions about their children’s education, health, and well-being.
By requiring transparency, consent, and accountability, H. 551 protects families from secretive school policies and reaffirms that parents, not schools, are the primary decision-makers. To learn more about the specifics, read our brief HERE.
Stand for parental rights—register to testify in support today.
BILL TO OPPOSE
We are also urging strong support for these life-affirming, family-focused bills:
This bill would embed social-emotional learning into school curricula and teacher training. We oppose it because it introduces ideological content that can divert focus from academic priorities and may advance a progressive agenda.
Read our brief on this bill HERE.
Help us protect children from radical ideology by registering to testify.
July 22nd Tourism, Arts and Cultural Development Hearing
The Joint Committee on Tourism, Arts and Cultural Development is holding a public hearing, scheduled for Tuesday, July 22nd, containing bills that would allow pornographic books in libraries. This hearing is at 1 PM in Room B-2 at the State House in Boston. There is an option to testify virtually or in person. Written testimony may also be submitted.
The deadline to register is Monday, July 21st, by 1 PM!
BILLS TO OPPOSE
- H.3594/S.2328 An Act regarding free expression
- H.3598 An Act protecting against attempts to ban, remove, or restrict library access to materials
These bills are designed to keep sexually explicit books on the shelves of public school libraries. Under the guise of preventing “book banning,” it makes it nearly impossible for local school committees to protect children from inappropriate content.
We call them the Pornographic Schoolbook Bills because that’s exactly what they defend.
Parents, through the elected school committee members who represent them, should have the ultimate say on what content is appropriate for their children. But these bills would tie their hands.
To read more about why we oppose these bills, read our brief HERE.
