LYNN, MA — Congressman Seth Moulton is celebrating an important labor agreement between Local 201 of the IUE-CWA and GE Aerospace that provides new work and strong wages for local workers and keeps critical national security manufacturing in Lynn.

“Economic security and national security go hand in hand. By committing to continue critical T-901 engine work in Lynn, we are proving that we can safeguard our military readiness and build prosperity that reaches every family in our region,” said Congressman Moulton. “The agreement shows that American workers can drive the future of national defense while fueling economic growth in our communities. I’ll continue to fight for the future of the T-901 engine.”

“GE Aerospace is proud to have reached a new four-year agreement with the IUE-CWA, recognizing the critical contributions of our employees in service to the warfighter, including on the T901 engine program for the Apache and Black Hawk helicopters,” said Christian Meisner, Chief Human Resources Officer, GE Aerospace. “We deeply appreciate Congressman Moulton’s steadfast support for our Lynn facility and the dedicated work of our employees.”

“IUE-CWA Local 201 union members are proud to build the best engines in the world. Through collective bargaining, we’ve secured the company’s commitment to bring a new engine program to our historic plant, the birthplace of the first US jet engine. Now, together with the company and Congressman Seth Moulton, we’re ready to take the next step and work to secure the funding needed to get this critical technology off the ground, said Adam Kaszynski, President of IUE-CWA Local 201, Northshore Labor Council.

Congressman Moulton has a long history of supporting the future of GE Aerospace manufacturing in Lynn. He has worked to deliver funding for GE’s Improved Turbine Engine Program (ITEP) since his first days in Congress. More recently, Moulton secured hundreds of millions in FY24 and is now leading efforts to fully fund FY26 priorities and protect this vital program.

In 2016, when the GE Foundation (now GE Aerospace Foundation) committed to making investments in Boston, Congressman Moulton secured a $10 million commitment from then CEO Jeff Immelt for Lynn. Moulton then led the effort to create GE’s Advanced Manufacturing Training Expansion Program (AMTEP), which has a strong track record of preparing workers for high-skill jobs. With 83% job placement and 25% wage increases for graduates, AMTEP exemplifies how workforce development can power industrial innovation.

Congressman Moulton congratulated both GE Aerospace and Local 201 for reaching a deal that benefits both Lynn’s workforce and America’s national security. Moulton is committed to ensuring the Lynn facility remains integral to American defense manufacturing for years to come.
