NEW BEDFORD — The Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA)’s New Bedford office opened its doors at its new permanent location

After nearly three decades on West Rodney French Boulevard, DTA’s New Bedford Transitional Assistance Office officially moved to 16 Kilburn Street, New Bedford, MA 02740.

DTA is collocated with MassAbility in the new office building.  On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (HLC) is also at  the same office.

“This new office, collocated with MassAbility and HLC, will enable us to better serve individuals and families in the New Bedford area,” said DTA Commissioner Jeff McCue. “Having direct access to a broader network of agencies and resources in one place not only streamlines the support process but also strengthens the outcomes for the people we serve.”

The Southeast Regional Transit Authority (SRTA) bus line 202 (Lund’s Corner) and bus line 211 (Wareham-New Bedford Connection) both stop close to the new office. There is also parking available in front of the new building as well as in a parking lot around the side of the building.

DTA’s New Bedford office serves approximately 55,000 people in the greater New Bedford area.
