Healey-Driscoll Administration Opens FY26 Destination Development Capital Grant Program

BOSTON— Today, the Healey-Driscoll administration, in partnership with the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism (MOTT), announced the FY2026 Destination Development Capital (DDC) Grant Program application portal is now open. The DDC grant program supports capital projects that enhance the state’s tourism infrastructure and drive non-resident visitation.

This competitive grant program strengthens Massachusetts’ visitor economy by funding tourism-related capital improvements that promote sustainability, accessibility, and long-term economic impact. Projects that align with the state’s strategic tourism goals, including those focused on climate resiliency, rural development, designated cultural districts, and Massachusetts 250 commemorations, will receive priority consideration.

Authorized by the Mass Leads Act, the DDC grant program underscores the Healey-Driscoll administration’s commitment to investing in tourism assets statewide as a key driver of economic development.

“The Mass Leads Act is about building an economy that works for every region, and tourism is a powerful part of that vision,” said Interim Economic Development Secretary Ashley Stolba. “Through this grant program, we’re investing in the infrastructure that fuels local economies, especially in our Gateway Cities and rural communities, so that all regions can share in the benefits of a thriving visitor economy.”

“These grants help create the kind of welcoming, memorable destinations that turn first-time visitors into lifelong ambassadors,” said Kate Fox, executive director at the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism. “A great experience doesn’t just bring people here, it brings them back, and that supports growth in every region of Massachusetts.”

Eligible applicants include municipalities, nonprofit organizations, and other entities undertaking capital projects that expand, construct, restore, or renovate tourism destinations and attractions. All proposals must demonstrate how the project supports the tourism objectives of MOTT and the state’s Regional Tourism Councils.

Visit MOTT’s Online Application Portal, to view program guidelines, and eligibility criteria, and to submit an application. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, July 9.
