Arbella Insurance Foundation Launches Annual “Let’s Drive Out Hunger” Program to Raise Funds for Hunger Relief Programs Across New England
Foundation recaps yearly efforts and will kick off this year’s program in May due to increased need and food scarcity in local communities
The Arbella Insurance Foundation (“Foundation”) today announced that it has raised nearly $114,000 for its annual “Let’s Drive Out Hunger” campaign in 2024, which supports food insecurity programs across New England. In 2024, Arbella Insurance Group (“Arbella”) employees participated in the campaign along with Arbella Insurance Group independent agents. In total, the Foundation in partnership with Arbella agents and employees have raised more than $2,144,000 over the last 17 years.
“I am very grateful for the generosity of Arbella’s employees and independent agents during our annual ‘Let’s Drive Out Hunger’ campaign. However, as we see food insecurity on the rise, the need across New England to give back has never been greater,” said John Donohue, chairman, president and CEO of the Arbella Insurance Group and chairman and president of the Arbella Insurance Foundation. “In response, the Foundation is launching its 18th annual ‘Let’s Drive Out Hunger’ campaign earlier this year. We are appreciative of our team’s ongoing commitment to their communities, and we hope that our mutual support will continue to help those in need.”
The 18th annual “Let’s Drive Out Hunger” campaign will run from May 15, 2025 through September 15, 2025. During this time, Arbella will offer a two-to-one matching gift for all agents and employees meaning, if an agent/employee donates $750, Arbella will match the donation with $1,500, tripling the impact in the fight against hunger.
Hunger is one of the critical issues facing Massachusetts today, as the state works to combat food insecurity along with the high cost of living, utilities, transportation, medical care, and more. According to a recent report, 20% of households in Massachusetts experience very low food insecurity, having to choose between paying for food, rent, school, and other life essentials. Arbella remains steadfast in its commitment to working towards a day where no child must skip a meal due to lack of funds.
Every year, “Let’s Drive Out Hunger” empowers Arbella’s independent insurance agents to select food programs in their own communities that they are passionate about supporting. This year, 101 food pantries across New England received donations, including Interfaith Social Services, St. Vincent DePaul, the Salem Food Pantry, and more.
“For decades The Arbella Insurance Foundation has been a bedrock supporter of Interfaith Social Services. We are beyond grateful for their contributions to our mission and for Arbella’s amazing employee volunteers who serve within our programs,” said Rick Doane, Executive Director, Interfaith Social Services. “Arbella’s employees and agents show their generosity and community spirt on a weekly basis in donating their time and goods. We are so thankful for Arbella’s partnership to provide essentials resources to those in need throughout the South Shore of Massachusetts.”
"At the Foundation, we do our best to address the most critical issues in our community – and hunger and food insecurity are at the top of our list,” said Robin Jones, executive director of the Arbella Insurance Foundation. “We are inspired by the generosity of Arbella employees and agents in support of the Foundation’s mission and initiatives that are close to our hearts. We remain committed to fighting hunger and doing our part to ignite and support change around food insecurity in New England.”
