To Board Of Directors
BOSTON, MA – Charles River Watershed Association (CRWA) elected three new members to
its Board of Directors at its 59th annual meeting last week: Susie Klein, Claire White, and Jane
Wiseman.
Klein has had a diverse career spanning media, public and investor relations, and academia.
She is the former president of the Boston chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute.
Now retired, Klein serves on the board of Framingham Adult ESL.
White is a pediatric orthopedist at Boston Children’s Hospital. She founded the “Mad Scientist
Club” at the James Hennigan After-School Program and later chaired the Committee
Overseeing Volunteer Services at Yale School of Medicine.
Wiseman leads the Institute for Excellence in Government, a nonprofit consulting firm dedicated
to improving government performance. She is also an Innovations in American Government
Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School. Wiseman has served as assistant secretary at the
Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety, and as assistant to the director for strategic
planning at the National Institute of Justice.
In addition, Ralph Ebele renewed his membership on the board of directors, a position he’s held
for forty years. A retired scientist who began his 40-plus-year federal career in the U.S. Fish and
Wildlife Service and finished as chief of the Water Quality Standards Section at EPA New
England, Abele served as CRWA’s Board President from 1989 to 1998.
Paul Levy, who served in several leadership positions over five decades and played a pivotal
role in the Boston Harbor Cleanup, was elected board president. Larry Yu, a Senior Editorial
Director for the Bridgespan Group, which provides management consulting to nonprofits and
philanthropies, was reelected as board clerk.
