TechNet Statement on News that the Trump Administration will Announce Treasury Secretary Bessent to Oversee the CFPB

Washington, D.C. – TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of innovation economy CEOs and senior executives, today released the following statement by Executive Vice President, Carl Holshouser, on reports that the Trump Administration will announce that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will oversee the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

“Secretary Bessent at the helm of the CFPB until a new director can be confirmed is a welcome step. TechNet looks forward to working with Secretary Bessent to reverse the expansive power grab initiated by former Director Chopra and bring the CFPB back to its statutory mandate.”
