A message from our President and CEO, Diane Gould:
As I reflect on our mission, I think about what it means to thrive. To grow or flourish. To prosper. To progress toward a goal. To be successful and fulfilled.
The people we serve face numerous challenges. We help children and adults
with mental health challenges, brain injuries, autism, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and substance use challenges. Some struggle with basic needs like housing, food, and clothing. Others are undocumented individuals without any insurance. There are children and families with complex needs, people involved with the justice system, and people needing communication access support. And many are thriving — at work, in the community, with their friendsand families.
Advocates is thriving, too. We merged with HMEA and FCP on July 1, 2024. Together we employ more than 2,500 staff and serve more than 45,000 individuals and families across Eastern and Central MA through nine behavioral health clinics, 148 group homes, six family support centers, ten day and employment programs, and dozens of community-based programs.
