Press Release: 2024-07-10

Let's get the SUPER Act passed in the Senate!

It's an exciting time here at NASW-MA! The SUPER Act was passed in the House as part of their Economic Development Bill. We are now advocating for the Senate to include it in their Economic Development Bill which is being discussed on Thursday, July 11th. Can you take three minutes to send a message to your Senator asking them to cosponsor Amendment #155 filed by Senator DiDomenico?

Send a message TODAY!

Components of the SUPER Act:

  • Remove the standardized test that Master's level social workers are currently required to take after completing their Master's Degree to obtain the LCSW licensure level.

  • Allow Licensed Independent Clinical Social Workers (LICSWs) to earn continuing education credits for supervising Licensed Certified Social Workers (LCSWs), MSWs, and BSWs

  • Create a state run grant program for MSW field placement stipends

How YOU can help our advocacy efforts to make them more effective:

State Senators want to hear from constituents about what matters most to them.Since this is a first-time file we need you to urge your state senator to prioritize passing the bill this session. Find out who represents you here.
