[Burlington, MA] – The Massachusetts High Technology Council held its 2023 Annual Meeting on Friday, June 9, where the election of the Board of Directors, Officers, and Executive Committee took place, ushering in a new era of leadership for the organization. The High Tech Council is thrilled to announce the appointment of esteemed industry leaders to key positions within the High Tech Council.
Following a successful two-year tenure as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors, John T.C. Lee, Ph.D., President and CEO of MKS Instruments, was elected as the 23rd Chair of the Board, succeeding Robert L. Reynolds of Putnam Investments. This notable achievement makes Dr. Lee the second Chair from MKS Instruments in the High Tech Council’s 46-year history. Joining him in a pivotal role is Corey Thomas, Chairman and CEO of Rapid7, who will serve as the Vice Chair. As seasoned members of the High Tech Council’s Board and Executive Committee, their strategic expertise and deep understanding of the technology landscape will be instrumental in shaping the organization's future endeavors.

I would also like to add my thanks and congratulations to Bob Reynolds for doing such a great job over the last two years,” Dr. Lee stated during his remarks. “I look forward to working with Corey Thomas, the new Vice Chair, and the rest of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors as we think about the critical factors that determine Massachusetts’ attractiveness for key talent and for companies that lead their industry.”
Conducted by Michael Kendall, Secretary of the High Tech Council and Partner and Co-Chair of the Private Equity Group at Goodwin Procter, the election also saw the addition of nine new Directors. These individuals, alongside the 27 re-elected incumbent Directors, represent a remarkable blend of private-sector, academic/research, and professional service firm leaders in Massachusetts:

Members also elected Catherine Kniker, Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer at PTC, Inc., and Navjot Singh, Ph.D., Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company, to the Executive Committee. Their strategic acumen and thought leadership will continue to guide the High Tech Council in its mission to foster senior executive engagement and long-term economic growth.
