BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS – NECTA, the five-state regional trade association representing private internet and television providers and connected technology innovators in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont, unveiled its sweeping rebrand today. The organization is now the New England Connectivity and Telecommunications Association and, along with its new name, NECTA also launched a brand-new website, logo and tagline that captures the organization’s work and focus centered around the priority of “Connecting New England.”

The rebrand includes clear articulations of NECTA’s mission, vision, and values. These statements demonstrate the impact and the dynamic work its members do every day across New England and set ambitious goals for the future. These statements of purpose also define the association’s role in shaping public policy across New England: to advance investment, innovation and collaboration; bolster economic growth; and extend connectivity to every New Englander.

“Connecting communities has been the north star for our association and our member companies for over six decades. Whether it was television in the 1960s or high-speed broadband during the COVID-19 pandemic, our association has always connected people to the services they want and need. NECTA members – and the region at-large – have played an outsized role in global technological leadership, discovery, and advancement. That’s at the core of who we are and the core of our new brand,” said Tim Wilkerson, President of the New England Connectivity and Telecommunications Association.

The rebrand is NECTA's first since 2004. It reflects the evolution among NECTA’s member companies now delivering unprecedented services like faster and reliable broadband, wireless telecommunications, low-cost connectivity options, connected gaming, and state-of-the-art streaming and television programming. Today's NECTA represents companies that provide innovative and high-quality services that are essential to the economy, work, learning, health, entertainment and our way of life. Founded in 1961, NECTA was originally formed to promote the television industry and has, over time, grown as New England saw a massive expansion in connectivity. NECTA’s rebrand honors the history of the region as a hub of innovation – from the invention of the telephone in Alexander Graham Bell’s Boston laboratory to the creation of the first iteration of the internet on the region’s college campuses – and sets bold goals for the organization’s future.

“The end of the digital divide is within reach and the next generation of products, services and technologies are on our doorstep because our members are providing world class broadband to every corner of the region, maximizing opportunity for all New Englanders and powering our bright future. This rebrand will better position us to seize the tremendous opportunities before us and continue our fervent advocacy for our members, these industries, their workers, and the communities we serve,” Wilkerson added.

“NECTA has always played an important role in shaping public policy, analyzing trends in technology and implementing best practices for these industries,” said Mark Reilly, Senior Vice President of Government Affairs for Comcast.  “With the constantly changing landscape and new technologies emerging on a rapid scale, NECTA's role will be even more important to help policymakers grapple with advancements of technology and how it can help expand economic growth and improve the lives of all New Englanders. Their refreshed brand and focus reflect where these industries are going, and I am excited to see what comes next.”
