Quote of the Day
“An explanation is owed to taxpayers and our office, with which legislators did not have any discussions, about why they are seeking to stymie the independent oversight our office provides. Critical health policy oversight should not be a casualty of a few, powerful legislators' opposition to the audit we are conducting of the General Court," DiZoglio's office said in a statement. "Taxpayers should not continue to be punished by legislators, via efforts like this, which reek of retaliation.”
Language included in a new health care reform bill seeks to eliminate the power of the state auditor — Diana DiZoglio, a former rep and senator currently leading a push for greater scrutiny on the Legislature.
